De CO2-neutrale vrachtvlucht is de enige reguliere full charterverbinding ter wereld die voor 100 procent wordt gedekt door Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF).<\/strong><\/h5>\n<p>(Frankfurt\/Main) SAF wordt gewonnen uit bioafval, bijvoorbeeld uit gebruikte eetoli\u00ebn. De getransporteerde producten zijn laptops, notebooks en pc&#8217;s voor particuliere en zakelijke klanten.<\/p>\n<p>Thorsten Meincke, bestuurslid voor lucht- en zeevracht bij DB Schenker: \u201eOnze unieke SAF-full chartervluchten helpen bedrijven om hun zendingen duurzamer te maken. Lenovo is een belangrijke klant voor dit baanbrekende initiatief en een voorbeeld dat verladers een echte verandering naar groenere transporten nastreven en implementeren. We zijn blij met dit nieuwe partnerschap.\u201d<\/p>\n<h5><strong>Groeiende aantal klanten<\/strong><\/h5>\n<p>Ashwin Bhat, bestuurslid product en verkoop bij Lufthansa Cargo: \u201eOnze alliantie met DB Schenker om CO2-uitstoot te vermijden krijgt steeds meer steun. Een groeiend aantal klanten erkent dat we voor ons gezamenlijke doel sectoroverschrijdend moeten samenwerken. Alleen samen kunnen we iets bereiken. Met onze SAF-vluchten zijn we pioniers.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In april 2021 hebben DB Schenker en Lufthansa Cargo de eerste reguliere SAF-gedekte full charterverbinding ter wereld tussen Frankfurt en Shanghai gelanceerd. Het gezamenlijke aanbod wordt gedurende het hele wintervluchtplan voortgezet. De CO2 die door de motoren wordt uitgestoten, is uitsluitend die welke de planten, die worden gebruikt voor de productie van bijvoorbeeld eetolie, uit de atmosfeer hebben onttrokken tijdens hun fotosynthese. Uit het daaruit voortkomende bioafval wordt het SAF geraffineerd.<\/p>\n<h5><strong>Besparing van 20 ton conventionele kerosine per vlucht<\/strong><\/h5>\n<p>Met de keuze voor de door DB Schenker in samenwerking met Lufthansa Cargo aangeboden SAF-vluchten bespaart Lenovo wekelijks ongeveer 20 ton conventionele kerosine per vlucht en daarmee 62 ton broeikasgassen (CO2e Well-to-Wheel). Bovendien worden de ongeveer 16 ton CO2e die ontstaan bij de productie en het transport van het SAF (upstream-emissies) gecompenseerd door compensatiemaatregelen.
