De logistiekbedrijf Gebr\u00fcder Weiss investeert 28 miljoen euro in een modern terminal in Graz. Daarbij is de logistieke en overslagruimte uitgebreid en zijn de voorwaarden voor verdere bedrijfsuitbreiding gecre\u00eberd. Het terrein in Kalsdorf ligt uiterst gunstig en omvat een logistieke hal van 16.500 vierkante meter en een overslaggebied van 6.500 vierkante meter.<\/p>\n

(Lauterach\/Kalsdorf) Het internationale transport- en logistiekbedrijf Gebr\u00fcder Weiss heeft een nieuwe locatie geopend in Kalsdorf bij Graz. Het hypermoderne terminal met een totale oppervlakte van ongeveer 70.000 vierkante meter vervangt de bestaande logistieke faciliteit in de Stiermarkse hoofdstad. Ongeveer 28 miljoen euro heeft de logistiekbedrijf in de nieuwbouw ge\u00efnvesteerd, die in minder dan een jaar is gerealiseerd. “We hadden de capaciteitsgrenzen op de oude locatie bereikt. De nieuwe faciliteit stelt ons in staat om verder te groeien en een nog betere service aan onze klanten te bieden. Onze 180 medewerkers kijken ernaar uit om de nieuwe infrastructurele mogelijkheden in dit opzicht te benutten,” zegt Gerhard Haas, vestigingsmanager Gebr\u00fcder Weiss Graz.<\/p>\n

Dubbele hoeveelheid laadperrons<\/strong><\/h5>\n

Het terrein in Kalsdorf ligt in de directe nabijheid van de A9 en A2 en omvat onder andere een logistieke hal van 16.500 vierkante meter en een overslaggebied van 6.500 vierkante meter. Het aantal laadperrons is met 92 meer dan verdubbeld. De modernste video- en vrachtmeet systemen zorgen voor een veilige en effici\u00ebnte belading van de vrachtwagens. Ook ecologische aspecten hebben een belangrijke rol gespeeld bij de locatieplanning. In het tweede kwartaal van 2021 zal begonnen worden met de bouw van een zonnepaneleninstallatie. “Hiermee zullen we 920 megawattuur stroom per jaar produceren en tot 75 ton CO2 besparen,” legt Haas uit.<\/p>\n

Groeiende zendingvolume<\/strong><\/h5>\n

De locatie Graz is binnen het netwerk van Gebr\u00fcder Weiss een centraal overslagpunt voor transporten richting Zuidoost-Europa. Ondanks de coronacrisis steeg het zendingvolume in het wegvervoer in 2020 met drie procent ten opzichte van het voorgaande jaar. De grootste groeimotor was de Home Delivery-activiteit, die met 72.100 zendingen een plus van 38 procent bereikte. Ook de sector logistieke oplossingen ontwikkelde zich positief, waar in de afgelopen jaren bekende klanten uit de automotive, consumptiegoederen en metaalverwerkende industrie zijn gewonnen. “We zijn geworteld in de regio en ondersteunen met onze logistieke diensten vooral ook de lokale economie,” aldus Haas. Vooral het onderwerp opleiding is voor de vestigingsmanager van groot belang. In 2020 stonden 14 stagiaires onder contract. “Dit niveau zullen we ook dit jaar handhaven,” benadrukt Gerhard Haas de verantwoordelijkheid van het bedrijf als een traditionele opleidingsorganisatie.
