De intralogistiek specialist TGW Logistics Group GmbH uit het Oostenrijkse Marchtrenk bouwt een nieuw distributiecentrum voor Urban Outfitters in Kansas City\/VS en ondersteunt de mode-retailer bij zijn groeistrategie. De nieuwe faciliteit maakt een flexibele afhandeling van retail- en online-bestellingen mogelijk. Het kernonderdeel van de automatisering is FlashPick\u00ae: de intelligente oplossing voor de automatische stuk-picking.<\/p>\n

(Marchtrenk) Urban Outfitters Inc. (URBN) is een van de toonaangevende lifestyle-mode-retailers. De portfolio van het wereldwijd opererende bedrijf omvat de merken Anthropologie, BHLDN, Free People, Terrain, Urban Outfitters, Nuuly en een Food&Beverage-divisie. Onlangs heeft de mode-specialist TGW de opdracht gekregen om een hooggeautomatiseerde oplossing te bouwen voor zijn nieuwe Fulfillment Center in Kansas City (VS). De go-live is al gepland voor 2023.<\/p>\n

Het hart van de faciliteit is FlashPick\u00ae, de intelligente oplossing voor volledig automatische split-case picking. De Single Order-Management aanpak stelt nieuwe normen op het gebied van snelheid en flexibiliteit \u2013 net als bij de combinatie van distributiekanalen.<\/p>\n

Retail- en online-bestellingen effici\u00ebnt combineren<\/strong><\/h5>\n

Het ontwerp van het Fulfillment Center in Kansas City is gebaseerd op de oplossing die TGW momenteel voor Urban Outfitters in het Verenigd Koninkrijk bouwt. Het omvat onder andere twee intelligente, volledig automatische pickrobots Rovolution en 46 handmatige pickwerkplekken PickCenter One.<\/p>\n

Bij de goederenontvangst worden de binnenkomende dozen in containers overgeladen en opgeslagen. Van daaruit komen de bestellingen naar 46 high-performance Goods-to-Person werkplekken en vervolgens naar de verpakking of verzending. De verschillende gebieden van de faciliteit zijn verbonden met energie-effici\u00ebnte KingDrive\u00ae transporttechnologie. Alle processen worden bewaakt door de TGW Warehouse Software, die via een interface is verbonden met het Manhattan Warehouse Management System van de klant.<\/p>\n

Urban Outfitters en TGW werken nauw samen aan de projecten in de VS en het Verenigd Koninkrijk. Of het nu gaat om retail- of online-bestellingen: de operationele processen zijn voor beide distributiekanalen hetzelfde. Dit biedt een aantal voordelen en vergemakkelijkt onder andere de wereldwijde training van medewerkers en onderhoudsprocessen.<\/p>\n

TGW heeft ons geholpen een modulaire oplossing te ontwikkelen die eenvoudig en tegelijkertijd flexibel is en zich aanpast aan de toekomstige behoeften van onze klanten.”<\/p>\n

“Het distributiecentrum is een mijlpaal en markeert een nieuw niveau in de samenwerking tussen Urban Outfitters en TGW,” benadrukt Chad Zollman, CSO TGW North America. “TGW onderstreept hiermee zijn toewijding om de partner van keuze te zijn voor Urban Outfitters in de intralogistiek-automatisering.”<\/p>\n
