Onder het motto ‘A History of the Future’ viert de Hamburgse intralogistiek STILL dit jaar zijn 100-jarig jubileum. Op 1 februari 1920 opende Hans Still zijn reparatiewerkplaats voor elektromotoren - het startschot voor een 100-jarige succesverhaal.<\/p>\n

(Hamburg, 3 februari 2020) In de afgelopen 100 jaar heeft STILL keer op keer blijk gegeven van zijn inzicht in de actuele behoeften van zijn klanten, de sector vormgegeven met zijn innovatiekracht en moedig de weg ingeslagen naar toekomstgerichte bedrijfsgebieden.<\/p>\n

Het begin en de doorbraak<\/p>\n

Al enkele jaren na de oprichting als reparatiewerkplaats voor elektromotoren presenteerde STILL op de Leipziger Messe in 1924 eigen producten, zoals het ‘Lichtstation Matador’. De ontwikkeling en reparatie van elektromotoren, generatoren en transformatoren bleef jarenlang het middelpunt van de bedrijfsactiviteiten. Na het einde van de oorlog bracht STILL met de EK 2000 een innovatieve elektrische kar op de markt en maakte daarmee de doorbraak als fabrikant van heftrucks. Vervolgens volgde de eerste heftruck van STILL. De introductie van de elektrische heftruck EGS 1000 markeerde het begin van een nieuw tijdperk.<\/p>\n

Innovatieve aandrijfsystemen en pionier van e-mobiliteit<\/p>\n

Al snel maakte STILL naam als producent van innovatieve heftrucks en als pionier op het gebied van e-mobiliteit. De passie voor effici\u00ebnte elektromotoren be\u00efnvloedde zelfs de ontwikkeling van heftrucks met verbrandingsmotoren. Vanaf het begin was het aandrijfsysteem van deze heftrucks diesel-elektrisch, waardoor hybride technologie al zeer vroeg werd toegepast.Elektrische aandrijving en e-mobiliteit zijn onlosmakelijk verbonden met STILL. De introductie van de eerste elektrische heftruck in 1949, het gebruik van brandstofcellen en de toepassing van lithium-iontechnologie zijn slechts enkele van de mijlpalen waarmee STILL zich als innovatieve partner voor succesvolle intralogistieke oplossingen op basis van elektriciteit heeft gevestigd. Toen in 2019 de nieuwe elektrische heftruck RX 60-20\/35 op de markt kwam, was STILL opnieuw de pionier.<\/p>\n

Klant- en servicegerichtheid als succesfactor<\/p>\n

Kwaliteit, service en klantgerichtheid waren de principes van oprichter Hans Still en behoren tot de belangrijkste pijlers van het bedrijf tot op de dag van vandaag. De introductie van digitale serviceportalen, zoals de webgebaseerde vlootbeheertool STILLReport of de webapplicatie STILL neXXt fleet, zijn slechts twee voorbeelden van de innovatiekracht in de servicesector.In de afgelopen jaren heeft STILL bovendien zijn scala aan adviesdiensten continu uitgebreid. In tijden van complexe netwerken van voertuigen en magazijninfrastructuur en toenemende automatisering is dit onmisbaar.<\/p>\n

Branchebepalende innovaties<\/p>\n

Steeds weer bewees STILL een fijngevoeligheid voor de behoeften van zijn klanten en vertaalde deze kennis naar nieuwe producten: De introductie van de eerste vrijzicht-heftruck in de jaren zeventig verhoogde bijvoorbeeld significant de veiligheid van de bestuurder en de omgeving. Een andere mijlpaal was de introductie van de zijwissel van de batterij bij de elektrische heftruckmodellen RX 20 en RX 60. STILL verbeterde daarmee significant de effici\u00ebntie van de heftrucks en zette verdere maatstaven die vandaag de dag tot de standaard van de sector behoren.<\/p>\n
