Questo rappresenta il settimo anno consecutivo in cui l&#8217;azienda \u00e8 risultata profittevole. L&#8217;aumento dell&#8217;utile del 11% \u00e8 attribuibile a una crescita significativa nel settore merci, con i volumi di carico che sono aumentati a oltre 46.000 t.<\/p>\n<p>L&#8217;incremento delle capacit\u00e0 di carico \u00e8 stato supportato da 15 voli cargo settimanali verso la Cina continentale e tre collegamenti settimanali verso Hong Kong. Questi sviluppi rafforzano la posizione dell&#8217;aeroporto come importante centro commerciale nel Regno Unito. Il direttore dell&#8217;aeroporto Matteoni ha commentato i risultati: &#8222;I volumi di carico sono quadruplicati nell&#8217;ultimo anno, il che riflette l&#8217;implementazione di successo della nostra strategia per posizionare l&#8217;aeroporto come un hub di carico leader nel Regno Unito.&#8220;<\/p>\n<h3>Investimenti in infrastrutture e servizi<\/h3>\n<p>Per supportare la crescita nel settore merci, l&#8217;aeroporto ha investito in diverse infrastrutture. Questi includono, tra l&#8217;altro, lo sviluppo di capacit\u00e0 di catena del freddo, l&#8217;istituzione di un terminal speciale per l&#8217;e-commerce e il miglioramento delle capacit\u00e0 di gestione. Nei primi sei mesi del 2026 sono state esportate circa 1.780 t di salmone scozzese.<\/p>\n<p>Il Terminal E dell&#8217;aeroporto ha ormai elaborato oltre 33 milioni di pacchi, con Royal Mail ed Evri che hanno stabilito le loro operazioni l\u00ec per garantire una gestione diretta dall&#8217;aeroporto all&#8217;ultima miglio. Inoltre, sono stati effettuati investimenti in magazzini refrigerati con una capacit\u00e0 di 87 t per soddisfare le esigenze dei prodotti sensibili alla temperatura.<\/p>\n<p>La crescita nel settore merci ha portato alla creazione di oltre 250 posti di lavoro diretti. L&#8217;aeroporto adotta un modello operativo integrato che comprende la gestione degli aerei, l&#8217;elaborazione delle merci, il rifornimento e il controllo del traffico aereo.<\/p>\n<h3>Riconoscimenti e prospettive<\/h3>\n<p>Nell&#8217;ambito dei Logistics UK Awards, l&#8217;Aeroporto di Glasgow Prestwick \u00e8 stato premiato come &#8222;Air Freight Business of the Year&#8220;, sottolineando il crescente ruolo dell&#8217;aeroporto nel settore del trasporto aereo e delle esportazioni scozzesi.
