La decisione \u00e8 stata presa a causa di significative difficolt\u00e0 finanziarie causate dall&#8217;aumento dei prezzi del carburante e da una ridotta attivit\u00e0 di volo. La societ\u00e0 ha annunciato che le operazioni sono ora gestite dai curatori fallimentari Stuart Morris, Robert Fishman e David Soden di Teneo Financial Advisory.<\/p>\n<p>In una comunicazione, Teneo ha dichiarato che la bancarotta \u00e8 dovuta a una fase di difficolt\u00e0 finanziarie accentuata da un calo degli ordini e dall&#8217;aumento dei costi operativi. I dipendenti interessati saranno informati con priorit\u00e0, mentre i curatori fallimentari entreranno in contatto anche con clienti, fornitori e creditori.<\/p>\n<p>European Cargo \u00e8 stata fondata nell&#8217;aprile 2020 per trasportare attrezzature mediche per il governo britannico durante la pandemia di COVID-19. La compagnia aerea ha utilizzato una flotta di Airbus A340-600 riconvertiti, originariamente acquisiti da diverse compagnie aeree come Virgin Atlantic e Iberia. Nonostante l&#8217;aumento dei ricavi grazie all&#8217;espansione della flotta e delle operazioni, la compagnia aerea non \u00e8 riuscita a far fronte alle sfide finanziarie.<\/p>\n<p>Gli ultimi voli si sono svolti il 19 maggio 2026, prima che l&#8217;intera flotta di sei A340-600 rimanesse a terra. La bancarotta \u00e8 stata ufficialmente annunciata il 3 giugno. I dipendenti hanno riferito di essere stati informati dei loro licenziamenti tramite Microsoft Teams, evidenziando l&#8217;incertezza e la pressione all&#8217;interno dell&#8217;azienda.<\/p>\n<p>L&#8217;aumento dei prezzi del carburante, in particolare a causa delle tensioni geopolitiche in Medio Oriente, ha incrementato i costi operativi per aerei meno efficienti in termini di carburante come l&#8217;A340-600.
