In un discorso alla CNS Partnership Conference di San Francisco, Brandon Fried, il Direttore Esecutivo dell&#8217;AfA, ha espresso preoccupazioni sul fatto che una riduzione della supervisione statale potrebbe compromettere la sicurezza nel trasporto aereo. Questo potrebbe minare le lezioni apprese dopo gli attacchi dell&#8217;11 settembre 2001.<\/p>\n<p>Fried ha sottolineato che le lezioni degli eventi del 2001 sono chiare e i rischi di un fallimento sono troppo elevati. Ha avvertito che qualsiasi indebolimento del controllo federale sulla sicurezza dei passeggeri potrebbe riportare le vulnerabilit\u00e0 di sicurezza che il sistema doveva originariamente eliminare. La federalizzazione del controllo dei passeggeri \u00e8 stata introdotta come risposta diretta alle debolezze sistematiche emerse prima degli attacchi, quando spesso contratti di sicurezza a basso costo avevano la priorit\u00e0 sull&#8217;efficacia.<\/p>\n<p>L&#8217;AfA sostiene che i vettori hanno sviluppato un modello di sicurezza efficace, basato su programmi come il Known Shipper Program, il Certified Cargo Screening Program e l&#8217;Air Cargo Advance Screening (ACAS). Questi programmi consentono agli operatori certificati di controllare le merci prima che arrivino negli aeroporti e di trasmettere dati in anticipo prima della partenza. In questo modo, vengono mantenuti standard nazionali e responsabilit\u00e0 da parte della TSA, della dogana e della protezione delle frontiere, nonch\u00e9 dell&#8217;industria.<\/p>\n<p>L&#8217;AfA chiarisce che questo modello non dovrebbe essere utilizzato come giustificazione per una privatizzazione del controllo dei passeggeri.
