L&#8217;operatore infrastrutturale Trim (Transnet Rail Infrastructure Manager) ha concluso \u00abRail Access Agreements\u00bb con tutti e undici i nuovi operatori ferroviari autorizzati. Cos\u00ec, il numero degli operatori attivi nella rete ferroviaria nazionale passa da uno a dodici aziende.<\/p>\n<p>Tra i nuovi fornitori ci sono Grindrod, ARC South Africa, Menar Ports &amp; Rail e Sharp Logistics. Questi dovranno trasportare merci come carbone, manganese, container, combustibili e carico generale. Secondo Trim, ci\u00f2 potrebbe inizialmente generare ulteriori 24 milioni di tonnellate di capacit\u00e0 di carico. Entro cinque anni, \u00e8 possibile un&#8217;espansione fino a 52 milioni di tonnellate.<\/p>\n<p>Parallelamente, alla fine del 2025 \u00e8 stato introdotto un nuovo procedimento per l&#8217;assegnazione a breve termine delle tratte. Questo dovrebbe consentire una pianificazione pi\u00f9 flessibile dei trasporti. Un primo progetto riguarda un servizio a breve distanza tra Cato Ridge e Durban per alleviare il traffico stradale nell&#8217;area portuale.
