L&#8217;analisi mostra che le navi a propulsione a idrogeno dipendono da approcci di sicurezza basati sul design e da misure di protezione aggiuntive. L&#8217;idrogeno pu\u00f2 formare rapidamente nuvole di gas infiammabili e possiede un&#8217;energia di accensione molto bassa, aumentando il rischio di esplosione.<\/p>\n<p>Soluzioni di design per la riduzione del rischio<\/p>\n<p>Linda Hammer (foto), esperta di DNV e autrice principale del rapporto, ha dichiarato: \u00abLo studio giunge alla conclusione che la sicurezza delle navi a idrogeno deve basarsi su una prima reazione che includa una robusta contenimento, incapsulamenti secondari e sistemi di protezione automatizzati. Questo riflette sia la velocit\u00e0 con cui possono aggravarsi gli incidenti legati all&#8217;idrogeno, sia le limitate possibilit\u00e0 di rilevamento e reazione dopo una fuoriuscita, in particolare nel complesso ambiente marittimo.\u00bb<\/p>\n<p>Il rapporto raccomanda che i sistemi a idrogeno a bordo ricevano incapsulamenti secondari per tutti i componenti che trasportano combustibile, comprese le installazioni su ponti aperti. Queste barriere dovrebbero limitare gli effetti di eventuali perdite e supportare un&#8217;operazione sicura.<\/p>\n<p>I ricercatori evidenziano anche i rischi legati al lavoro per gli equipaggi. L&#8217;alta infiammabilit\u00e0 dell&#8217;idrogeno e le temperature di stoccaggio molto basse del suo stato liquido creano nuovi pericoli. I marinai necessitano quindi di formazione specifica per riconoscere i rischi e rispondere agli incidenti. Procedure chiare e sistemi di gestione della sicurezza robusti rimangono fondamentali.<\/p>\n<p>Lo studio sottolinea che il contenimento tecnico, i sistemi di protezione automatizzati e la gestione della sicurezza strutturata devono lavorare insieme per ridurre i rischi, mentre le tecnologie a idrogeno vengono introdotte gradualmente nel settore del trasporto marittimo.<\/p>\n<p><a
