La Commissione riconosce, secondo l&#8217;azienda, l&#8217;importanza strategica del settore dei traghetti e mira a supportare l&#8217;industria marittima nella sua decarbonizzazione. Un punto centrale \u00e8 il reinvestimento delle entrate provenienti dal sistema di scambio di emissioni dell&#8217;UE (ETS) nello sviluppo della navigazione, il che coincide con le richieste di lunga data di Interferry.<\/p>\n<p>La Commissione Europea stima che l&#8217;industria marittima necessiti annualmente tra 2,4 miliardi e 8,5 miliardi di euro per decarbonizzare la propria flotta. Interferry si mostra soddisfatta del fatto che la Commissione prevede di utilizzare una parte significativa dei circa 10 miliardi di euro di entrate ETS annuali per l&#8217;introduzione di tecnologie pulite. Un meccanismo dell&#8217;UE pianificato dovrebbe fornire alle compagnie di navigazione certificati ETS per l&#8217;uso di combustibili sostenibili e sistemi di propulsione puliti, legati a specifici criteri dell&#8217;UE.<\/p>\n<h3>Elettrificazione come chiave<\/h3>\n<p>Interferry sottolinea che la strategia supporta le recenti scoperte delle organizzazioni ambientaliste, che evidenziano il potenziale dell&#8217;elettrificazione nel settore dei traghetti. In particolare, l&#8217;elettrificazione dei porti, per fornire energia elettrica a terra, \u00e8 vista da Interferry come una delle misure pi\u00f9 accessibili per ridurre immediatamente le emissioni.
