ITJ 49-52/2023
Dear readers,
The dystopian predictions for the coming year are hard to beat – so 2024 can only exceed expectations... Maybe even be in the positive sense!
Hope is warranted, however, because there are plenty of good stories to tell set away from the hustle and bustle of everyday logistics. The right amount of curiosity ensures that they don’t remain hidden.
At a Propeller Club meeting in Basel I recently learnt from DHL’s Thomas Kowitzki that Eurasian railfreight connections are continuing to pulsate – despite the affordable sea route from Asia to Europe.
At the London Gateway terminal I observed with my own eyes the impetus that DP World’s British model is giving the industry. Last but not least – in his latest interview my editorial colleague Andreas Haug established that even IT professionals have a soul.
So there’s reason enough to head for the festive season and the new year with reasonable confidence.
All the best,
Christian Doepgen
