ITJ 36-38/2023
Dear readers,
How do you like this week’s rather special cover? This must be the first time that Hawaii has featured on the cover of the ITJ in the 84 years of our existence!
That the Pacific Ocean archipelago isn’t only a tropical paradise was made clear by the hellish wildfires around Lahaina in August. The tourist destination is – or was – located in the rain shadow of the West Maui Mountains, one of the regions with the most rain on earth. Succour didn’t come from there, however, but nevertheless from above. US airlines once again showed what the aviation industry is capable of in times of crisis.
Our trade fairs and conferences listing on page 22, in contrast, provides you with the planning security you need for the rest of the year.
Yours,
Andreas Haug
