ITJ 17-18/2023
Dear readers,
Will Lufthansa be allowed to acquire a stake in ITA Airways? Or will the talks initiated in Rome at the end of January fail – just like the joint efforts of Air France-KLM and Delta Airlines did last autumn?
The board of directors of the Italian airline approved a business plan presented by the German carrier on 30 March – shortly after it was revealed that the successor to Alitalia made a net loss of EUR 486 million in 2022. The period for negotiations expires on 24 April.
For more logistics news from Italy turn to our separate Special supplement, which is also published in Italian – as every year in spring.
This main edition is very much about numbers. Some of them come from the airfreight industry, which is finally planning to meet in Istanbul again at the end of April (page 7), sea freight (page 8) or from Switzerland (page 24). Over and above this we also focus on special topics, including pharmaceuticals logistics (page 15), packaging (page 20) and IT / software (page 21).
Enjoy your read!
