Zack Oakley takes the helm
The Greater Rockford Airport Authority (GRAA) has appointed Zachary Oakley as new executive director of the Chicago Rockford International Airport (RFD), as of 1 January 2024.
Oakley has worked full time with the airport since 2006, starting as an operations and facilities specialist before he was promoted to a supervisor, then operations manager, and then to his previous role as deputy director in 2017. In this role, he oversaw the planning and construction of more than USD 150 million in air cargo infrastructure improvements.
In 2023, the FAA qualified the RFD as the 13th largest air cargo hub for landed weight, surpassing Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta (ATL) airport. RFD has been consistently rising in the rankings over the last four years. (cj)
