Pact between Gefco and System Alliance
Gefco Germany is to become a partner of the general cargo cooperation System Alliance. The Gefco location in Mainz is taking over the production area of Hellmann Worldwide’s branch office in Nieder-Olm. The move is intended to reinforce Gefco's presence in the Rhine-Main region, and the bundling effect will step up the efficiency of the entire transport chain.
In addition, Gefco will benefit from a bigger product portfolio, which will include, inter alia, temperature-controlled transport services. The collaboration with System alliance will roughly triple the number of vehicles that Gefco deploys in Mainz; the handling volume will quadruple.
The bundling of cargo volumes will improve truck utilisation, thus lightening the carbon footprint. (mw)
