Mukran port picks MD
Effective 1 January 2025, Henry Forster will assume the role of managing director at Fährhafen Sassnitz. His track record includes executive positions at Nehlsen in Bremen, GOA in Baden-Wuerttemberg and, most recently, Ihlenberger Abfallentsorgungsgesellschaft in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania.
Forster will succeed long-time managing director Harm Sievers, who retired on 30 September 2024. In the interim period from 1 October 2024, Fridjof Ostenberg, the company's former authorised signatory and head of the legal department, has been serving as acting managing director.
On an area of almost 430 hectares, the multifunctional port of Mukran on Rügen comprises ferry, rail, multipurpose and offshore terminals as well as extensive production and storage areas. The port has sea connections to almost all Baltic Sea ports. (cj)
