First female president to lead AMP
The American Maritime Partnership (AMP), which represents the USA’s maritime industry, has elected Jennifer Carpenter (centre) as its new president and the first woman to lead the organisation.
Carpenter will be joined by vice president Sara Fuentes (left) and James Weakley (right) who will serve the dual role of secretary and treasurer. Elected officers will hold their positions for a two-year term.
Carpenter will retain her current mandate as president and CEO of American Waterways Operators (AWO). She has been a member for more than 33 years, working with industry stakeholders, the United States Coast Guard, and members of Congress to support the American tugboat, towboat, and barge industry.
