Cian: Etienne Giros takes the helm
The members of the board of directors of Cian (French Council of Investors in Africa) have appointed Etienne Giros as president. Giros has been deputy chairman of the organisation since 2014, and also chairman of Ebcam (European Business Council for Africa) since June 2018.
With degrees in political and economic sciences from the University of Paris, Giros began working with Africa at Cfao in 1986 as deputy general manager of Transcap. In 1991, he joined the Bolloré Group as general manager of finance for Africa, covering 43 countries.
In 2000, Giros became general manager of the Africa development division, which includes the Bolloré Group's activities on the continent. In 2006, he was appointed director of the CSA research institute. (cj)
