ZM Trucks expands business in North America
The subsidiary of ZO Motors Tokyo (Japan) will initially enter class 4, 5, 6 and "baby 8" work truck segments with BEV and FCEV models.
The company will begin producing its vehicles in Toronto, Canada by Q1/2025. For the US market, production will also take place in California. Each ZM Trucks model has been optimised for local market needs and will be assembled in North America and compliant with all North American regulations, ZM Truck said.
The manufacturer will provide for cost-efficient charging, alongside standard DC charging options. A standard 220v/100a circuit will allow for overnight charging. The trucks are designed with clean back-of-cab and chassis rails, enabling efficient and easy upfit solutions. Sales are expected to start in Q4/2024. (ben)
