ZIM sees volumes rise
ZIM has reported its consolidated results for the full year 2021: the Haifa-based carrier handled 3.48 million teu over the year, an increase of 23% compared to the same period last year, thus recording a stronger performance in this field than a number of other players in the industry.
Revenues were at USD 10.73 billion, 169% up from 2020. Adjusted ebitda for 2021 amounted to USD 6.60 billion (+537%), while operating income (ebit) was at USD 5.82 billion (+706%). In its report, ZIM underlined that it had launched 17 new lines since June 2020.
Furthermore, 28 eco-friendly LNG dual-fuel container vessels are due to be delivered to ZIM's fleet between 2023 and 2024, which will then represent 40% of the carrier's operated capacity. (sh)
