Zim's Pacific service up and running
Haifa-based carrier Zim is launching a New Zealand to Australia service that connects with links to and from China and offers a 15-day transit from Shanghai to Auckland and a 16-day service from Yantian to Auckland.
The ports of call are as follows: Melbourne – Sydney – Auckland – Tauranga – Melbourne. The first vessel serving the route was “GSL Africa”, calling Auckland on 2 April. Zim announced that the service will deploy two vessels of 1,100 teu (including reefer plugs). Eli Glickman, ZIM’s president and CEO, commented that the liner “sees great opportunities in the Australia and New Zealand trade.” (cd)
