ZIM prepares for landing
Haifa-based ZIM Integrated Shipping has reported its results for Q3/2022 and 9M/2022. In the third quarter of this year, revenues reached USD 3.23 billion, a year-over-year increase of 3%, while adjusted ebitda declined by 7% compared to Q3/2021 to USD 1.93 billion and net income shrank by almost 25% from USD 1.46 billion to USD 1.17 billion.
Volumes transported in Q3/2022 quarter also went down by 5% to 842,000 teu. The average freight rate per teu in Q3/2022 was USD 3,353, still a year-over-year increase of 4%.
CEO Eli Glickman: “Driven by macroeconomic and geopolitical uncertainties, the near-term outlook for container shipping has shifted and the normalisation in freight rates has begun.” (sh)
