Haifa-based ZIM Integrated Shipping Services has entered into a new charter agreement with Navios Maritime Partners for a total of thirteen container vessels. Out of these, five are second-hand vessels and eight will be newbuilds. The total charter hire will be approximately USD 870 million.

The five second-hand vessels, which range from 3,500-4,360 teu, are set to be delivered in Q1 and Q2/2022. The eight 5,300 teu newbuilds scheduled to be delivered from Q3/2023 till Q4/2024, are expected to be deployed in trades between Asia and Africa.

The second-hand vessels will be chartered for up to 4.5 years and the newbuild vessels for up to 5.3 years. ZIM is also in need of additional capacities due to the reorganisation of its cooperation with 2M. (sh)
