Zero-emission deliveries in Vienna
The logistics company Dachser is now using only electrically powered vehicles in the centre of Austria’s capital. Three battery-powered trucks - two Fuso and one Qantron - deliver various goods in a defined zone in Vienna's city centre completely emission-free. They are fuelled exclusively with electricity from renewable sources.
Back in June, Dachser Austria signed the declaration of intent for the “zero emission transport” project, which was initiated by the Vienna Chamber of Commerce.
More than 30 companies are involved in the pilot project. In addition to Vienna, Dachser carries out emission-free goods deliveries in another 16 metropolitan regions in Europe. At least eight more European cities are to be added to the company's sustainability programme by 2025. (ben)
