Yusen's new Charleston hub

Yusen Logistics is expanding its North American reach with a new project in Charleston, South Carolina, in which it will add 8,268 sqm of transload and distribution capacity at the site. The sea and airfreight forwarder outgrew its temporary transload hub, where it was transloading 8,000 containers per year.

This new site serves as a permanent solution in Charleston, featuring enhanced space as well as 130 dock doors and 645 trailer parking spots. With the move also comes proximity to the port of Charleston, connecting Yusen to further shipping routes.

Completion is set for next month, November 2024, from which point it will fully replace the previous facility. Yusen has been gradually expanding its reach in the USA, as it recently established a 29,729 sqm hub in Indianapolis besides a new facility in Washington, bringing its total network to 35 distribution centres.
