Young Rembrandt transits Moscow SVO
One of the jobs that Moscow Cargo, a freight handler at Moscow SVO airport, is involved in, is in the supply chain for Russia’s Covid-19 vaccine ‘Sputnik V’.
Its logistics specialists were recently involved in a different type of task – returning the 1626 painting ‘The Expulsion of Merchants from the Temple’, by Rembrandt Harmenszoon van Rijn (1606–1669), to the country. It came back to the Moscow Pushkin Museum at the beginning of November, after the special ‘Young Rembrandt’ exhibition in Oxford.
After the exhibition ended the painting was brought back to Russia by the Russian specialist logistics company ART-Courier, one of Moscow Cargo’s long-standing partners. The Moscow Cargo freight terminal at SVO has special premises, where 900 t of valuables cargo was handled last year. (ah)
