XPO to help cut emissions for Tour de France
As the long-term official transport partner of the Tour de France, the logistics provider will again help to reduce the environmental impact of the cycling event.
XPO will also be moving the “Tour de France Femmes avec Zwift” having been its official transport partner since the race’s inaugural edition in 2022.
From the start of the Grande Boucle in Florence, Italy, on 29 June, a team of 59 XPO’s drivers will ship all the equipment necessary for the Tour de France from stage to stage. It will not only again use HVO biofuel to power the transport vehicles like it has done since 2021. For the first time, a 100% electric road tractor will also travel in France from Mâcon to Nuits-Saint-Georges.
In 2023, the use of biofuel enabled a reduction of 136,571 kg of CO2 and the women's edition saw a reduction of 18,976 kg of CO2 thanks to HVO biofuel. (ben)
