Xeneta: air cargo on a healthy rise

Global demand for air cargo transport shows no signs of letting up. Global air cargo volumes rose by double digits for the 13th consecutive month in November, according to the latest market analysis conducted by Xeneta. Furthermore, the platform that monitors ocean and airfreight rates reports the highest level of load factors since April 2022.

As Xeneta states in a press release, current trends in the air cargo market have led to hopes in certain sectors that there will be a “peak of all peaks” in Q4.

According to Niall van de Wouw, Xeneta’s chief airfreight officer, this should not be the goal because of the imbalance it would create between winners and losers. The course had been set for a peak but its absence “is another sign of the maturity we previously referenced in the global air cargo market,” says Van de Wouw. (js)
