World trade still in turmoil
According to the report issued by the general customs administration of the People's Republic of China, Iran's trade with China during the first nine months of last year amounted to USD 18.17 billion. In contrast, total trade went down by 38.5% to USD 11.19 billion in the first three quarters of 2020.
During the January-September period of this year, both Chinese exports to and imports from Iran dropped, but the decrease in China's imports from Iran was much bigger than China's exports to Iran, figures showed.
Moreover, China's commerce ministry announced that it will impose temporary anti-dumping measures on Australian wine imports, from 107.1% to 212.1%. China is the biggest destination for Australia's wine exports, accounting for 39% of total shipments in the first nine months of 2020, according to the association Wine Australia. (cd)
