World's first E195 adapted freighter certified
Having received certification for the world’s first Embraer E195 adapted dedicated cargo aircraft, Azul took it into commercial service on 26 September. With the conversion of another three aircraft expected by the end of 2020, the Brazilian airline aims to deliver "a unique and focused solution" to its e-commerce customers. Two of these E-jets have already been dedicated to an e-commerce provider for at least six months.
They will join two B737-400 freighters, for a total of six aircraft dedicated for Azul Cargo Express, Azul’s cargo business unit. In addition, the company’s full freighter capabilities are further expanded by its five ATR 72-600 Quick-Change aircraft. These dedicated cargo aircraft complement the belly capacity on Azul’s passenger network, the largest in the country (+140). (ah)
