Work in progress at Alaska's air cargo hub
From today, 27 June 2019, Amazon Air is launching a daily B767F service to Anchorage (AK, USA), using the airport’s Kulis Business Park, south of the East-West runways.
Alaska’s Governor Mike Dunleavy: "Ted Stevens Airport is perfectly situated to support the movement of e-commerce goods between Asia and North America, and this new business fits with our strategy of maximising ANC’s potential for development."
The airport is investing USD 85 million during this summer to support future growth. Projects scheduled for construction include the North-South runway project and a new airline gate.
FedEx Express, which operates one of its largest facilities at ANC (46,000 sqm), will upgrade existing gates to accommodate growth in their B777F operations, currently handling approximately 500 flights per month. (ah)
