Wind in Teesside's sails

Northeast England-based PD Ports says it supports the offshore wind sector deal agreed by the industry and the UK government.

The deal declares that a third of all UK electricity will be produced by offshore wind by 2030. The industry is growing across Teesside and is now set to prosper thanks to the deep water and land available to support such operations in the ports of Teesport and Hartlepool.

The River Tees is home to a number of players in the offshore wind energy sector. Several such companies are already using the business sites in Teesside. PD Ports is involved in the installation, operations and maintenance of the Teesside offshore wind farm, and the mobilisation of jack-up vessels. (kd)
