Where UK traffic is growing
In January 2020, Munich-based logistics services provider Group 7 generated a significant 40% increase in turnover in its truck transports between Germany and UK compared to the previous year. Since its foundation in 2006, the company’s portfolio has included general cargo, as well as part and full load services to and from UK.
During the Brexit negotiations, the provider had continuously prepared its customers for the effects of the UK’s upcoming exit from the European Union.
To prevent the trucks being held up in the port of Dover, Group 7 uses the pre-lodgement procedure to transmit the required customs documents electronically ahead of the arrival of the truck at the port. “The substantial increase exceeds all our expectations,” Günther Jocher, the company's managing director, says.
