Where no DHL has gone before

DHL is flying to the moon in a new collaboration with Nasa’s commercial lunar payload services. The Astrobotic Peregrine Mission is one of the first commercial trips to the moon.

Aboard the lunar lander are 151 DHL Moon Boxes, which contain mementos such as letters, stories, and a data stick with images. Each Moon Box is a capsule measuring up to 2.5 cm wide by 5 icm high. The Peregrine transporter is about the size of a small car and can transport up to 120 kg of freight.

Landing is set for 23 February at the Gruithuisen Domes. “With the DHL Moon Box and Astrobotic’s cooperation, we are venturing into space for the first time and exploring new frontiers,” says Arjan Sissing, head of global brand marketing at DHL Group. (mk)
