Westhof BIO picks automation solution
Westhof BIO has chosen the automation solution developed by Movu Robotics for freezing organic vegetables at its Hamburg site and opted for a rack silo to improve efficiency and reliability.
The silo is served by six Movu atlas 2D pallet shuttles, which can transport and store more than 5,000 pallets. As a plug-and-play system, it can fit into any building and be scaled up. The six-level warehouse has -24°C and features deep channel storage to maximise space.
The solution has been in operation since June 2024 and helps the producer of organic frozen products to process around 10,000 t of fresh produce per year. Both companies are satisfied with the success of the innovative combination of shuttles and warehouse. (mk)
