Watco expands in New York area
The US transport company has started operating a new transload facility for the short line company for NYSW (New York, Susquehanna, and Western Railway) in North Bergen, NJ.
The facility is strategically positioned to support the area’s burgeoning industries, including lumber, bulk products, energy, agriculture, and steel. North Bergen offers access to nearly all major highways in northeastern New Jersey, making it a prime distribution site within the Metropolitan New York area, Watco said.
The terminal connects with the Class I railroads Norfolk Southern and CSX. The rail-to-truck facility includes five storage and over 55,800 sqm dedicated to laydown storage. The site is paved, fenced, well-lit, and monitored for security. (ben)
