Walvis Bay cold-chain facility opens

DP World has opened a new USD 2 million temperature-controlled distribution facility in Walvis Bay (Namibia), to expand the cold-chain capabilities for Seapride Foods Coastal. Located at Deep Catch Namibia’s ACCS premises, the facility offers 720 pallet spaces, increasing storage and operational capacity by 50%. The expansion supports growing demand in the hospitality, retail, and export sectors.

Seapride Foods Coastal, part of Deep Catch Namibia Holdings, supplies meat, seafood, poultry, and frozen foods across Namibia, Zimbabwe, Zambia, and South Africa. The new site features freezer, chiller, and dry storage, along with office facilities. DP World aims to optimise efficiency, enhance service levels, and meet rising regional food supply needs driven by tourism, mining exports, container traffic, and future energy projects. (js)
