Wallula’s farmers to receive an intermodal centre

The new US company Tri-Cities Intermodal (TCI) is planning to develop an intermodal centre in Wallula, WA, adjacent to the former cold connect warehouse and property.

TCI has signed a lease/purchase agreement to this effect to acquire the whole facility as a revival of the plans previously announced by Tiger Cool Express before it shut down operations last June. The intermodal centre will serve the entire agricultural community in the region with sustainable transportation capacity.

The initial service will offer transports between Wallula and the Northwest Seaport Alliance on-dock facilities for dry imports and exports. It will also support Union Pacific to move goods between Wallula and Chicago. (ben)
