Volvo Trucks grows in America

The truck manufacturer will build a heavy-duty truck manufacturing plant in Monterrey, Mexico to supplement the group’s production lines in the USA. It will also provide additional capacity to support the growth plans of both Volvo Trucks and Mack Trucks in the US and Canadian markets, and Mack Trucks’ sales in Mexico and Latin America.

The Monterrey plant is expected to be operational in 2026. Representing an investment of USD 700 million, it will focus on the production of heavy-duty conventional vehicles for the Volvo and Mack brands. It will be a complete conventional vehicle assembly facility including cab body-in-white production and paint, Volvo said. (ben)
