Virgin Atlantic Cargo returning to Mumbai
Starting in exactly five months (27 October 2019), Virgin Atlantic's relaunched flights between London Heathrow and Mumbai, a thriving cargo route for customers in India, the UK and the USA, will complement the airline’s long-established route between London and Delhi. Operated on Virgin Atlantic's B787-9, the aircraft will provide up to 26 t of cargo capacity.
Juha Jarvinen, EVP, commercial: "Until recently, we’ve been able to serve this important market through our partnership with Jet Airways, however, since it has suspended operations, we now have an opportunity to provide alternative options for our customers and meet this demand."
Managing director Dominic Kennedy: "In 2018, our cargo revenues ex India rose by 10% as support grew for our daily Delhi flights. The Mumbai market is equally buoyant." (ah)
