Vietnam Airlines' international and domestic relief
According to Baltimore's Johns Hopkins University, China's neighbour Vietnam, with 268 confirmed cases of Covid-19 and zero deaths, is coping relatively well with the pandemic. After privately owned Bamboo Airways delivered medical equipment to Europe one month ago, state-controlled Vietnam Airlines followed suit: earlier this month, 550,000 face masks were handed over to France, Germany, Great Britain, Italy and Spain.
Last week, Vietnam Airlines transported medical supplies from the standing committee of the Central Committee of Vietnam Fatherland Front free of charge from Ho Chi Minh City to Hanoi. The medical supplies included 500 mattresses to assist Covid-19 prevention and control at the Ministry of Defence’s field hospitals and centralized quarantine areas within the densely populated country.
