Vehicle logistics providers ready for the future
Falling sales figures for cars in China and Europe, trade conflicts between the EU and the USA as well as between the USA and China and debates on environment and climate protection are just some of the problems facing the car industry and, as a result, vehicle logistics providers today.
“Never before have changes come so rapidly and tomorrow they will happen even faster,” said Wolfgang Göbel, president of the Association of European Vehicle Logistics (ECG) at association’s annual conference of the association.
However, ECG members feel prepared. A working group for digitalisation and a recently task force for sustainability help to prepare members for the future. In cooperation with car manufacturers the providers have developed a standardised forecasting tool which helps to avoid inefficiencies on both sides. (ben)
