Valenciaport steaming ahead to cleaner operations
The latest fleet expansion of the Port Authority of Valencia (PAV) concerns 13 electric vehicles and four hybrid vehicles. This initiative is part of the gateway’s ‘Valenciaport 2030’ programme, a commitment to zero emissions.
Furthermore, the PAV has put several charging points for electric vehicles into operation in its car park. In the Valencia, Sagunto and Gandia port areas there are further initiatives running, such as one to use cleaner fuels, such as liquefied natural gas, in collaboration with the company Baleària.
In the framework of the European H2Ports project it will also use hydrogen in port operations and machinery in Valencia, with the participation of MSC Terminal Valencia and the Grimaldi Group’s Valencia Terminal Europa. (sh)
