Uzbekistan Airways increases network
Uzbekistan Airways has just received its fourth B787-8 Dreamliner. The country's flag carrier, this aircraft model's first customer in Central Asia, began commercial operations in 2016 and plans to operate six B787s by 2020.
The fleet modernisation aims to adequately represent the republic’s interests in the global air transport market and should have a significant impact on increasing the economic potential of the country.
In terms of network expansion, Uzbekistan Airways has just resumed service to Indonesia, previously served during the winter 1995/1996 season. Yesterday (1 May 2019), the carrier launched a once weekly Tashkent - Kuala Lumpur - Jakarta - Tashkent service, which is taking off and heading in the opposite direction today (2 May). (ah)
