USA: freight corridors for zero-emission vehicles
The US government has published a national strategy showing how the deployment of zero-emission infrastructure for medium and heavy-duty vehicles can be accelerated to decarbonise the freight sector. The road map’s key objective is to build new electric vehicle freight corridors and hubs in four phases.
In the first phase, from 2024 to 2027, priority hubs will be set up based on freight volume, which will then be connected along critical freight corridors by 2030.
The third phase (2030-2035) will extend the corridor connections and initiate network development, and finally, between 2035 and 2040, the regional corridors will be linked to the national network for ubiquitous access. (ben)
