US short line Phoenix Rail formed
The infrastructure manager Ancala has acquired Lehigh Valley Rail Management (LVRM), in order to establish the US short line Phoenix Rail. The firm recently completed the acquisition of LVRM, an owner and operator of short-line railway and intermodal infrastructure in Pennsylvania (USA). Financial details of the transaction remained undisclosed.
Short-line railways play a vital role in freight transportation, linking shippers to the USA’s national railroad network. The US short-line railroad industry generates USD 3.6 billion in annual revenues and continues to expand, particularly as shippers opt for lower carbon and cost-effective transport solutions, Ancala said.
