US e-truck plants to be served by CSX
Ford and Korean SK Innovation will invest USD 11.4 billion in new campuses in USA to produce the next generation of electric trucks and the batteries to power them. The plants will be served by US class I railways CSX. Production will begin in 2025.
Called Blue Oval City, one complex will be constructed in west Tennessee and build next-generation electric F-Series pickups and advanced batteries.
A new Blue Oval SK Battery Park is to be built in central Kentucky consisting of twin battery plants that will power a new line-up of Ford and Lincoln Evs.
The news about the large investment comes amid strong demand for the all-new Ford F-150 lightning truck, E-transit and Mustang Mach-E electric vehicles. (ben)
