US Customs to use AI in supply chain visibility

“Artificial intelligence is essential to achieving greater levels of operational efficiency, accuracy, and transparency within customs brokerage”, says Nisarg Mehta, CTO and co-founder of the intelligent logistics platform Raft in a speech at the Northern Border Customs Brokers Association (NBCBA) Fall Conference.

This shift is embodied by the US Customs Border Protection’s new plans to re-engineer its customs system, the automated commercial environment (ACE). The new platform, ACE 2.0., aims to re-imagine the international exchange of trade data, positioning the USA at the forefront of global customs modernisation.

“As advocates for Northern Border brokerage, we recognise the importance in advancing digitalisation. Raft's AI solutions exemplify this drive, emphasising the importance of evolving with technology," said Karen Damon, president at NBCBA. (mk)
