US class I railway to serve two new hubs
Burlington Santa Fe Railway (BNSF) has won two transport contracts in USA to serve a new biofuels terminal in California and a new grain shuttle facility in South Dakota.
The biofuels terminal that USD Clean Fuels is planning to build in National City, CA, will be able to transload renewable diesel, biodiesel, ethanol and sustainable aviation fuel (SAF). BNSF Railway will provide the hub with the transport of clean fuels to the area from the Midwest and US Gulf Coast as from early 2024.
The agribusiness CHS will start building a new grain shuttle facility in South Dakota to tie into an existing rail loop currently used for its agronomy operations. In cooperation with BNSF, the facility will bring farmers more market access in the Pacific Northwest grain corridor and other markets. (ben)
