US class I railway CSX to deliver renewable fuels
Energy company Oleo-X has chosen rail as a major supply chain partner to transport its renewable energy. On a CSX-served location in Pascagoula, Mississippi (USA), Oleo-X has launched a renewable diesel (RD) and sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) feedstock merchant pretreatment facility.
The location has the potential to produce up to 1135 million litres of premium feedstock per year in pretreatment technology to formulate clean, high-quality feedstocks for RD and SAF producers.
The innovation is widening the pool of renewable energy feedstocks by enabling the processing of low-carbon, inedible oils — including poultry fat — without blending in high-quality oils taken from the food industry. (ben)
